In February 2009, Australia’s worst bush fires devastated communities throughout Victoria. Panasonic Australia immediately pledged support and financial assistance to the victims, with cash and products to help families and communities to rebuild.
Our first response was to provide 2,000 “Welcome Home” packs directly to those in need. The Salvation Army worked with affected families and communities to distribute the packs. $100,000 in immediate cash relief was distributed via the Red Cross.
To help rebuild schools in the bush fire affected communities, Panasonic worked with local authorities to establish a “Bush Fire Schools Recovery” programme, providing a range of products including white boards, TVs, PMX phone systems and Audio Visual products.
