Panasonic Partners with the AFL

Panasonic Goal of the Year

Panasonic’s relationship with AFL commenced in 2009, and expanded in 2010 with involvement across all levels of the game, including community, government, corporate, media and the fans. The Facebook promotion ‘Your AFL Moment’ gave AFL members, fans and supporters the opportunity to win 4 reserved tickets to the most exciting games of the season including 2 tickets to the Toyota AFL Grand Final by posting their photo or video on Panasonic’s Facebook page.

 

In 2010 Panasonic also kicked off its naming rights sponsor of the very popular ‘Panasonic AFL Goal of the Year’ competition, extending the partnership as the official consumer electronics partner of the AFL and Network Ten’s AFL High Definition broadcast partner.” The competition ran for 22 weeks, with a LUMIX DMC-FT2 digital still camera won each week.  The Ultimate Panasonic Prize Pack for the end of season winner was valued at $9000 and included a Full HD Neo Plasma TV, and Blu-ray Home Theatre System, plus two LUMIX digital cameras.

Finally, for AFL fans who couldn’t make it to the game Panasonic and Channel Seven joined forces to produce the first ever Toyota AFL Grand Final in 3D. This historic event saw St Kilda and Collingwood battle it out in only the 3rd ever Grand Final draw.

In 2011 Panasonic will continue to grow the popularity of the Panasonic AFL Goal of the Year competition. With an expanded 24 round competition this is expected to be even more hotly contested than ever before.
