Judges

Tim Farris 

Tim Farriss is lead guitarist with arguably Australia’s most successful rock band, INXS.  He is the oldest of the three Farriss brothers, with Andrew and Jon joining him to form INXS in 1977, along with Michael Hutchence, Garry Garry Beers and Kirk Pengilly.
Music was always a big part of Tim's life, learning guitar at an early age and sticking with it. For nearly 30 years Tim has been playing and producing music and is a true rock and roll trooper – with superlative records, hit singles and ceaseless tours with INXS, he has done it all. Tim is thrilled to be involved with Panasonic’s Kid Witness News program and have the opportunity to encourage students to have a go at making their own music for their short films

Khoa Do 

2005 Young Australian of the Year, Khoa Do is a film director, screenwriter and teacher. His first short film was shortlisted for a 2001 Academy Award, and in 2003, he won the IF Independent Spirit Award for his filmmaking.  In 2004, Khoa was the youngest film director in Australian history to be nominated for an AFI Award for Best Director.
Khoa has travelled widely speaking on youth issues, motivation and inspiration. He has spoken in all arenas and platforms.
As a successful film director, writer and teacher with an inspirational life story, Khoa will bring a wealth of experience to this year’s KWN panel.

Toni Pearen 

Toni Pearen is an Australian actress, singer, songwriter and TV presenter.  Known earlier in her career for her role on the TV drama series E Street and for her music career in the early 1990s which included a number of ARIA certified gold singles, she was also the much-loved host of Australia’s Funniest Home Video Show for five years from 2003 to 2008 and most recently competed on the eighth season of Dancing with the Stars.

Steve Rust 

Mr. Steve Rust was appointed to the position of Managing Director Panasonic Australia in April 2007.  In his 30-year industry career, Mr. Rust has held a number of senior executive roles in global IT and telecommunications subsidiaries. Before joining Panasonic in 2006 as Deputy managing Director, he was Managing Director of Ingram Micro Australia, and has also held senior management roles at Nortel Networks, Apple and Toshiba.

Luke Carroll 

Luke Carroll is one of Australia’s most promising young acting talents.  The well known stage and screen veteran, is a Sydney based actor, best known for his starring role in ‘Water Rats’, ‘Home & Away’ and a wide range of other Australian Drama series, films and theatre productions,  In more recent times Carroll is a presenter on ABC’s Play School and is thrilled to be joining the 2011 KWN program.

Reed 

Reed Collins has spent  the last 16 years at some of the most creative agencies in 4 continents. Companies such as Mojo & Partners Sydney, Hunt Lascaris TBWA Johannesburg, Lowe Howard-Spink London, Cliff Freeman & Partners New York, Leo Burnett Chicago and now The Campaign Palace Sydney.
Reed has won every international award several times over across a wide range of categories on brands such as Fox Sports, Altoids, Stella Artois, Staples, Hollywood Video, Qantas, BMW, P&G, Olympus, Smirnoff, Kelloggs, Greenpeace, Caesars Palace, McDonalds, Kelloggs and Nintendo to name a few. In 2001, Reed was the most awarded creative in the world for his Fox Sports campaign according to the Gunn Report. In addition he has work in the permanent collection at MoMa NYC.
