The 28 mm wide-angle lens easily captures large groups of people indoors or expansive architecture and scenery with dynamic width and rich perspective. The Extra Optical Zoom function uses the centre part of the CCD to extend this 8x zoom ratio to powerful 16.9x zoom at a resolution of 3-megapixel or less.

In iA (Intelligent Auto) mode, 4 detection functions work automatically to optimise your settings, making it easier than ever to take beautiful photos. The DMC-FH20 includes MEGA OIS (Optical Image Stabiliser) to correct hand shake and Intelligent ISO Control to detect subtle motion, automatically adjusting the settings to prevent blur. Face Detection AF/AE recognises your subject’s face then optimises the focus and exposure to capture that specific person perfectly. Intelligent Scene Selector senses the ambient conditions and automatically selects the scene mode you will need for a beautiful image.
High-speed performance and start-up
Engineering improvements to the DMC-FH20 mean that moving subjects have never been so easy to capture in perfect focus. You will never miss another action shot, as the ultra-high speed AF (Auto Focus) technology ensures there is no delay between pressing the button and taking the picture.
Stunning high-definition motion pictures, even in low light
The Lumix DMC-FH20 records video in high definition and the pixel-mixed readout method enables bright movie recording even in low-light settings. The Lumix DMC-FH20 can also record stunning full-size video in WVGA (848 x 480 pixels at 30 fps) or standard motion pictures in VGA (640 x 480 pixels at 30 fps) and QVGA (320 x 240 pixels at 30 fps).
Large, bright, high-resolution LCD
A large, high-resolution LCD automatically adjusts the brightness in 11 steps according to shooting conditions. This LCD provides sharp, clear images in virtually all shooting situations, ranging from night-time to bright daylight scenes. In addition, the High-angle mode makes the display extremely easy to view from a low angle: for example, when taking photos by raising your hand upward to capture the subject over the crowd.
