Intelligent Zoom and Intelligent Resolution technology allows the HC-V500M’s 38x Optical Zoom to extend to 50x without image degradation, so you can shoot with enhanced zoom without experiencing blurry edges. The 32.4mm wide-angle* lens also makes it possible to shoot at a close distance from your subject and still fit the surrounding area into the frame - and it is perfect for capturing beautiful images of wide landscapes or large groups of people.
iA (Intelligent Auto) and HYBRID O.I.S. + offer effortless professional results
When iA mode is activated, it automatically selects the most suitable shooting mode at the press of a button. The HC-V500M camcorder includes Face Recognition, AF/AE Tracking, Intelligent Scene Selector, Face Detection and Intelligent Contrast Control in its iA suite, as well as the newly developed HYBRID O.I.S. + (Optical Image Stabiliser). This new system employs five-axis correction to help suppress blurring in both wide-angle shots and powerful zoom shots – allowing for steady images across the entire zoom range.
Navigate the system with Intuitive Touch Operation
The easy-to-view 3" wide -screen LCD allows intuitive fingertip touch-operation. When shooting, you can use Touch Zoom to instantly zoom in and out or Touch Shutter to automatically focus when shooting still images by simply touching the subject on the screen. For playback, you can also change thumbnail pages by sliding a fingertip across the screen. You get smooth, intuitive operation without taking your eyes off of the screen.
Create 3D Images, Highlight Reels and more, and then share them with ease
2D images can be easily transformed into 3D images with the 2D to 3D conversion function, simply by connecting the camcorder to a 3D-compatible TV with a mini HDMI cable. Advanced Highlight Playback is another exciting creative feature. Simply select the days of the recordings you want to see, and this innovative function automatically selects the most exciting scenes, arranges them, and plays them with music according to a set time interval. Editing, archiving or uploading your masterpieces to YouTube™ and Facebook™ ** is easy with the included HD Writer HE 4.0 software. Image data can even be transferred to a Mac computer for editing in applications such as iMovie.
