3D photo and video shooting in an ultra-compact body

Forget bulky 3D cameras and giant lens attachments, the Lumix DMC-3D1 offers 3D still image and video shooting capabilities in an amazingly compact body. Employing two lens units of folded optics, this clever camera can record 8-megapixel 3D images and 1920 x 1080 high quality 3D HD movies. The 25mm ultra wide angle 4x optical zoom lenses are complimented by our MEGA O.I.S. (Optical Image Stabiliser) to make sure you capture clear 3D images with minimal blurring. Your images can then be easily viewed on a Panasonic VIErA 3D TV by simply inserting the SD card with 3D content into the TV’s SD card slot or by connecting the camera to the TV with an HDMI cable.

2D dual shooting and intuitive touch operation

The dual-lens system gives you more freedom when shooting in 2D, allowing you to capture photo and video at the same time or even record different viewing angles. Just imagine, you could be movie-recording a party scene with one lens and shooting a still close-up with the other lens. Or you could take two still images simultaneously. It is easy to switch the lens between right and left and control the zoom function, thanks to the 3.5-inch large Smart Touch screen.

Remarkable performance from the 12.1MP MOS sensor and Venus Engine

Advanced image processing is guaranteed with the combination of a 12.1MP High Sensitivity MOS sensor and Venus engine, improving both sensitivity and speed. The DMC-3D1 also features clever noise reduction technology, resulting in dramatically clear images and an Intelligent Handheld Nightshot function, so that beautiful atmospheric night shots can be created without the use of a tripod. The Venus Engine has quad-CPUs for processing large amounts of 1920 x 1080 full HD data at high speed in AVCHD and MP4*. Although the DMC-3D1 has 2 sets of lens units and sensors, the Venus Engine minimises energy consumption so that battery life is as long as that of single lens compact digital cameras. High quality sound can be recorded using the Stereo microphone and Dolby Digital Stereo Creator.
