The Lumix LX5’s Intelligent Resolution technology automatically detects and optimises key areas within both still and moving images. The result - image resolution is vastly improved and pictures are consistently crisp and clear.
The Intelligent Zoom also extends the zoom ratio by approx. 1.3x while still maintaining image quality, even when combined with digital zoom (a 3.8x optical can virtually extend to 5x equivalent.)
High-end Dolby Digital sound and spectacular HD movie
Not only can the Lumix LX5 record HD movies in AVCHD Lite with quality Dolby Digital sound. (AVCHD almost doubles the recording time in HD quality compared with the conventional Motion JPEG format), but it also has Creator Motion JPEG format (1,280 x 720 pixels). Panasonic’s acclaimed iA mode can also be used for movies, or you can quickly switch to Creative Movie mode if you want to take control of the shutter speed and aperture yourself.
