A touch of inspiration
The Lumix DMC-G2 has touch-screen operation with 3.0-inch free-angle LCD featuring full time Live View and high-speed contrast AF System. In both photo and movie recording, auto focus can be set at the desired part of the frame by simply touching the subject to activate the AF. In manual operation, aperture and shutter speed can be set by moving the slider. While playing back, you can quickly select an image by scrolling images. The DMC-G2 has a 1,440,000-dot equivalent LVF (Live View Finder), too.
Advanced technologies ensure immaculate detail
The Four Thirds 12.1-megapixel Live MOS sensor ensures improved photo and movie recording with its high S/N, thanks to a circuit structure that is unaffected by the noise generated in each of the circuits. The Intelligent Resolution Technology, incorporated in the Venus Engine HD II, determines the subject's contours and colour edges, and emphasises them during image processing. The Dust Reduction System helps maintain image quality by placing a Supersonic Wave Filter in front of the sensor, deflecting even the tiniest particles.
It’s never been so easy to capture beautiful photos and movies
Whether you’re shooting stills or movies, My Colour Mode makes it easy to customise colour effects to match your mood. For stills, the Peripheral Defocus Mode automatically adjusts the focus to match the AF area you positioned, while it subtly defocuses the foreground and background to emphasise the subject. In movie recording, the Motion Picture P Mode makes adjusting the aperture simple and fast. The iA Mode, featuring Face Recognition, serves as a combination of functions that makes it easy for anyone to get beautiful photos and movies.
Shoot superior quality movies, then watch them on your VIErA TV
The Lumix DMC-G2 can record HD movie of 720P in AVCHD Lite with the high sound quality of Dolby Digital Creator; just press the record button to start shooting. The iA Mode can also be activated in movie recording. Still image recording is available during movie recording and can cut out a still image after shooting, thanks to the Intelligent Resolution technology. Connect the Lumix DMC-G2 to your Panasonic VIERA TV via an optional mini HDMI cable and you can use the TV's remote control to play your movies back on the big screen.

Despite its compact size and light weight, the Lumix G VARIO 14-42mm/F3.5-5.6 ASPH./MEGA O.I.S. offers a zoom range of 28-84mm (35mm equivalent), making it suitable for a wide range of scenes from portrait to landscape. It incorporates Panasonic's MEGA O.I.S. (Optical Image Stabiliser), which makes it easy to shoot clear shots even in low-light situations without the blurring that results from hand-shake.
