Matt's bio

Matt Shirvington is one of Australia's most well known track and field athletes.

From 1998 until 2002 he held the Australian National sprint title, claiming five consecutive Australian national titles for the 100m sprint event.

Shirvington has a strong relationship with Panasonic Australia as the face of the Panasonic VIERA and ‘Why Choose Plasma’ advertising campaigns.

He is passionate about technology, using it both on and off the track.

Bronte's bio

Bronte Barratt will be competing at her first Olympic Games in the 200m and 400m freestyle swimming events.

Queensland-born Barratt is one of the brightest prospects in Australian swimming and currently holds the Commonwealth record for 400m and is ranked second in the world in the 200m.

She will be using the HDC-SD9 Full HD Panasonic camcorder to capture special moments in the lead up to the Games and also as she enjoys sight seeing with her family once her events are over. These once-in-a lifetime memories can be easily shared with Bronte's friends and family at home by simply inserting the camcorder's SD card directly into her Panasonic VIERA TV in the living room.

Bronte will also be an Ambassador for Panasonic's global Kid Witness News (KWN) program. The program provides primary and secondary school students with equipment and guidance to direct, shoot, and star in a five minute video, helping to develop their abilities and creativity.

Tamsyn's bio

Triple Commonwealth Gold medalist, dual Olympian and current 800M Indoor World Champion, Tamsyn Lewis has established herself as one of the country's most exciting athletes. She is competing in both the women's 400m and 800m track events at this year's Olympic Games.

The middle distance runner to date has won a total of thirteen Australian Championships at 400m and 800m.

Tamsyn is using the Panasonic Blu-ray Recorder to play back her training sessions with her coach to help her improve her technique and performance.

Ky's bio

Ky Hurst, the only man ever to win seven Australian Ironman titles, is competing in the 10km Open Water Swimming event, a new event at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.

The Queensland-born swimmer began training and competing in swimming and Life Saving at the tender age of 8.

As Ky's training ground is the ocean, Panasonic's compact and waterproof SDR-SW20 SD Card camcorder will accompany him during his training sessions.

The robust and waterproof camcorder is designed to go to a depth of 1.5m to film Ky's technique in the water. On land, he can use the tiny SDR-S7 camcorder to capture video clips and messages.
